The Sterling Scholar program is the largest scholarship program in the state of Utah. Even though only seniors participate, preparation should begin years in advance. Becoming a Sterling Scholar brings additional scholarship opportunities from universities across the state. The program covers 15 different curriculum areas of competition, with emphasis upon scholarship, leadership, and citizenship.
To be eligible, students must
1. be a high school senior graduating with his or her respective class and
2. have extraordinary scholarship scores (ACT & GPA) as well as service and leadership experience in both the school and the community that is characterized by one of the program categories.
School winners go on to compete at the regional level.
